Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is boasting on the front page of The Wall Street Journal that, “Ukraine will not legally recognize the occupation of Crimea. There’s nothing to talk about here.” This statement is very harmful to the Peace Negotiations with Russia in that Crimea was lost years ago under the auspices of President Barack Hussein Obama, and is not even a point of discussion. Nobody is asking Zelenskyy to recognize Crimea as Russian Territory but, if he wants Crimea, why didn’t they fight for it eleven years ago when it was handed over to Russia without a shot being fired? The area also houses, for many years before “the Obama handover,” major Russian submarine bases. It’s inflammatory statements like Zelenskyy’s that makes it so difficult to settle this War. He has nothing to boast about! The situation for Ukraine is dire — He can have Peace or, he can fight for another three years before losing the whole Country. I have nothing to do with Russia, but have much to do with wanting to save, on average, five thousand Russian and Ukrainian soldiers a week, who are dying for no reason whatsoever. The statement made by Zelenskyy today will do nothing but prolong the “killing field,” and nobody wants that! We are very close to a Deal, but the man with “no cards to play” should now, finally, GET IT DONE. I look forward to being able to help Ukraine, and Russia, get out of this Complete and Total MESS, that would have never started if I were President!

I’m suing the law firm of Perkins Coie for their egregious and unlawful acts, in particular the conduct of a specific member of this firm, only to find out that the Judge assigned to this case is Beryl Howell, an Obama appointment, and a highly biased and unfair disaster. She ruled against me in the past, in a shocking display of sick judicial temperament, on a case that ended up working out very well for me, on appeal. Her ruling was so pathologically bad that it became the “talk of the town.” I could have a 100% perfect case and she would angrily rule against me. It’s called Trump Derangement Syndrome, and she’s got a bad case of it. To put it nicely, Beryl Howell is an unmitigated train wreck. NO JUSTICE!!!

Context
The context of these popular verses about being saved by grace through faith is the 10 verses of Ephesians 2:1-10 and is often summarized as “By Grace Through Faith.” Paul starts out by talking about life before God’s salvation where we were lost in sin:
Lost in Sin: Before God’s salvation, people were spiritually dead, trapped in sin and following the world’s ways.
Dead in Sin: People were separated from God because of their sins, like lying, cheating, or selfishness.
Following the World: They lived like most people, chasing trends or desires that went against God’s plan.
Influenced by Evil: A spiritual force (the “prince of the power of the air”) pushed them toward disobedience to God. This is also discussed in Chapter 6:
Ephesians 6:12: For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Chasing Fleshly Desires: They focused on what their bodies and minds wanted, like pleasure or power, ignoring God’s rules.
Facing God’s Judgment: Their sinful nature made them “children of wrath,” deserving God’s punishment, like all people without Him.
This teaches how people start out spiritually dead, living for themselves, influenced by evil, and are headed for God’s judgment due to sin. The next section turns to God’s love and grace:
God’s Love and Grace: God, full of mercy and love, saved people from their sins by giving them new life through Jesus Christ.
Rich in Mercy: Even though people were sinful, God’s great compassion led Him to offer them salvation.
Made Alive in Christ: When they were still trapped in sin, God brought them to spiritual life through Jesus’ sacrifice.
Paul describes this beautifully in Colossians:
Colossians 2:12-13: having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,

Saved by Grace: This salvation is a free gift from God, not something anyone can earn.
Raised with Christ: God gave believers a special place with Jesus in heaven, showing their new status.
Showing His Kindness: God saved them to display His endless grace and love forever.
God shows his loving mercy, which saves people through Jesus, giving them new life and a heavenly place as a gift of grace to show His kindness. Then we learn that we are saved for a purpose:
Saved for a Purpose: People are saved by faith in God’s grace, not by their own efforts, and are created to do good works for Him.
Saved Through Faith: Salvation comes from trusting God’s grace, not from doing good things to earn it.
God’s Gift: This gift is completely from God, so no one can brag about saving themselves.
Jesus also discussed the gift of God when talking to the Samaritan woman at the well:
John 4:10: Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”

Not by Works: Good deeds don’t earn salvation; it’s God’s gift to keep people humble.
God’s Creation: Believers are like God’s masterpiece, made new in Jesus to live for Him.
Made for Good Works: God planned for them to do good things, like helping others, to show their faith.
We see that salvation is a gift through faith, not earned by works, and that God prepares believers to live out their faith by doing good deeds. So let’s remember that salvation is 100% Jesus and 0% us. However, after being saved we will do good works because we love him!

Paul wants us to understand how far we are away from God before we are saved:
And you were dead in the trespasses and sinsin which you once walked,
following the course of this world,
following the prince of the power of the air,
the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—
Spirits often cause disobedience and we live in the flesh:
among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh,
carrying out the desires of the body and the mind,
and were by nature children of wrath,
like the rest of mankind.
We live for ourselves in the flesh, but because God loves us, he gives us another way:
But God, being rich in mercy,
because of the great love with which he loved us,
even when we were dead in our trespasses,
made us alive together with Christ—
Paul discusses this in Romans as well:
Romans 5:6: For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

Not only are we saved, but we have an amazing future!

This was so important to Paul that he chastised the other apostles when they were still enforcing Jewish laws on gentile believers:
Acts 15:10-11: Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.”

And this is not your own doing;
it is the gift of God,
not a result of works,
so that no one may boast.
God has not changed. He wants us to recognize his mercy and power, just like he did with Gideon back when he reduced the army size from tens of thousands to just 300:
Judges 7:2:The Lord said to Gideon, “The people with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel boast over me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’

We cannot stop there, however. Even though we are saved by faith alone, we become a new creation to do good works for God after we are saved:
For we are his workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand,
that we should walk in them.
So we will do great works for him, because he loves us and saved us. But, we can never boast, because we are saved only “By Grace Through Faith!”
Father, I love you because you first loved me and gave yourself for me. I cannot boast because I am saved by grace through faith. This is the free gift of God I have accepted that gives me authority over all the power of the enemy. And I will do the good works I was created for that you prepared before you even created me. Thank you for your Amazing Grace. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
