Rick discusses the recent missile attacks by Iran on Israel, stating that he believes this gives Israel the ‘excuse’ to strike Iran’s nuclear and oil facilities, which he believes is necessary to prevent Iran from obtaining and using nuclear weapons against Israel.
He suggests that the attacks were a response to the recent killing of a Hezbollah leader and that Iran is trying to ‘save face.’
Rick also mentions the potential for Israel to strike Iran’s oil industry and the impact this could have on global supply chains and oil prices.
Rick promotes various upcoming events and initiatives related to his ministry, including a ‘newcomers’ orientation’ on Thursday, a ‘champion training’ event on Monday for those interested in becoming ‘champions’ for the ministry’s mission, and the celebration of the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah (the Feast of Trumpets) on the following day.
He encourages viewers to participate in the Rosh Hashanah celebration by wearing white clothing, bringing noise makers, and engaging in traditional Jewish customs.

Rick briefly discusses the upcoming vice-presidential debate, expressing hope that the ‘extreme’ views of the Democratic candidate, Tim Walls, will be exposed.
He also mentions allegations of corruption against New York City Mayor Eric Adams, suggesting that Adams is trying to use the court system to avoid consequences for allegedly receiving bribes from Turkey and having ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
Promotion of upcoming release of information related to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs sexual assault case
Rick discusses the upcoming release of information related to the alleged sexual assault crimes of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, suggesting that the names of other powerful people involved in the alleged crimes will be revealed and that the names ‘will shock you.’
He speculates that this information could potentially implicate Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris, leading to her withdrawal from the election.
Rick transitions to a Bible study and worship segment, focusing on Psalm 91 and its promises of protection for those who take refuge in God.
He reads the entire psalm, provides commentary and context, and encourages viewers to memorize and meditate on its verses.
The segment also includes several worship songs with lyrics based on Bible verses, and Rick encourages viewers to participate in the worship and celebration of Rosh Hashanah the following day.

Day 1: My Refuge and My Fortress
By Rick Rene of Blessed2Teach Ministries (https://blessed2teach.com)
Prayer Guide Day #1
I am not moved by the world’s opinions. I run to the Lord for my comfort and protection. I trust the Lord to be my protector and deliverer. He is the one who strengthens my immune system to repel all attacks against me.
Psalm 91:2-3: I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
Lord, You are my refuge and I trust in you to deliver me from any pestilence or attacks against my health. In Jesus name, Amen.
Context
All 16 verses of Psalm 91 are often summarized by verse 2’s declaration of “My Refuge and My Fortress.” This is likely the most popular Psalm when it comes to the protection God provides to those who take refuge in him. This Psalm starts out with the promise of us being able to “dwell in the shelter of the Most High” and “abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” Then it moves to the famous verses used for this day’s reading where we affirm the Lord is our refuge and our fortress who we can trust. God will deliver us “from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.” A fowler is “a person who sets snares and lies in wait for prey” and a pestilence is “deadly and overwhelming disease that affects an entire community.” Many use this psalm to declare themselves and their loved ones free from the traps of the enemy and the diseases the enemy attempts to send to us.
The next verses tell us of God’s refuge and his faithfulness that allows us not to fear “terror by night, nor the arrow that flies by day.” We are protected not only from pestilence but also from destruction. Then we get to another famous verse, in verse 7:
Psalm 91:7: A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
This is more affirmation that even if the enemy attacks us in great numbers, they are no match for our God! Then we are told that we will see with our eyes the wicked having to make amends for their deeds. We are also told that “no evil will befall” us and that God will command Angels to guard us in all our ways! The angels will help us up so that we won’t strike our “foot against a stone” and that we can even trample on young lions and snakes. This is similar to the promise in Luke:
Luke 10:19: Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
These promises hold true if we “hold fast” to the Lord and when we call to God, he will answer us, keep us from trouble, rescue and honor us. The psalm ends with the promise of God giving us a long life and, most importantly, giving us salvation!

Psalm 91:
Devotional
Is the Lord your refuge and your fortress? If so, some of the most amazing promises of God are outlined in Psalm 91 where it starts by qualifying who this Psalm was written to:
- He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
- will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
These promises are written to those who dwell in the shelter of the most high and those who say:
- “My refuge and my fortress,…
- “… my God, in whom I trust.”
If you say these things and truly abide the shadow of the almighty then God is active in protecting you:
- For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
- and from the deadly pestilence.
- He will cover you with his pinions
- and under his wings you will find refuge
- his faithfulness is a shield and buckler
What great promises that the enemy’s traps will not snare us. Another popular memory verses confirms this in the book of Isaiah:
Isaiah 54:17 no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”
As we dedicate ourselves to the Lord he will be our refuge and his faithfulness will be like a shield and buckler that was key in early warfare. This Psalm continues with more promises of protection:
- You will not fear the terror of the night,
- nor the arrow that flies by day,
- nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
- nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
Even if the enemy attacks us in great numbers or deadly tactics we will be safe:
- A thousand may fall at your side,
- ten thousand at your right hand,
- but it will not come near you.
Not only will it not come near you, but you will see the enemy have to pay for their evil:
- You will only look with your eyes
- and see the recompense of the wicked.
This reminds me of recent attacks by Hezbollah sending thousands of rockets at Israel with every limited damage, but they paid dearly in front of the entire world.
So, why would God do all these things for us? He answer that by saying:
- Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
- the Most High, who is my refuge—
And when we do so:
- no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
- no plague come near your tent.
How will God do this? He will:
- command his angels concerning you
- to guard you in all your ways.
- On their hands they will bear you up,
- lest you strike your foot against a stone.
And because of all this protection:
- You will tread on the lion and the adder;
- the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
Again, all this available to only those who take refuge in him:
- Because he holds fast to me in love,
- because he knows my name.
So hold fast to the Lord and know his name and the promises will not stop. Besides all the above, the Psam continues with more promises:
- I will deliver him;
- I will protect him
- When he calls to me, I will answer him;
- I will be with him in trouble;
- I will rescue him and honor him
- With long life I will satisfy him
Wow! The Lord will deliver us, protect us, answer us when we are in trouble, rescue us and honor us and give us a long life! We can be grateful and motivated to trust in him in ALL our ways.
However, since this life is so short compared to eternity, perhaps the last promise is most important. The Psalm ends saying God will
- show him my salvation
This is a Psalm worth meditating, maybe memorizing key parts of it, coming back to it when you need encouragement.
“Father, You are my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust. I declare the protection of the Almighty and I will abide in the Most High! I declare my body strong and able to withstand any of the enemy’s attacks because I know your name and hold fast to you in love. In the name of Jesus. Amen.”
