Day 7: Mobilizing for the Great Harvest – Go in Power

Introduction

This series builds to its most powerful moment: Jesus’ Great Commission. He gives it with all authority in heaven and on earth, promises to be with His followers always, and sends the Holy Spirit to give them power. The goal is to be His witnesses everywhere—from their own city all the way to the ends of the earth.

It brings together everything from Days 1–6:

• How the Church was founded
• Salvation by grace
• The promises of heaven
• The need to discern truth carefully
• The hope of the rapture
• God’s big overall plan

All of those truths lead to one clear call to action: get moving now. The harvest is ready, the time is urgent, so go and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything Jesus commanded. Obey today—there’s no time to wait.

Why This Matters Today

The signs are obvious: thanks to technology, the gospel is spreading all over the world faster than ever before. Still, billions of people have never even heard the good news about Jesus.

Jesus Himself said the harvest is huge—there are so many people ready to receive the truth—but the workers are few. Right now we have more tools than any generation in history (internet, smartphones, social media, translation apps, online Bibles, live streaming), yet the time we have left feels very short.

So the call is clear: obey the Great Commission today. If we step up in faith, a real revival could sweep across the earth, and we could see billions come to Christ—mass salvations—still in our lifetime.

Section 1 – Key Scripture & Reading

After Jesus rose from the dead, He appeared to His disciples and gave them the Great Commission. He met the eleven disciples on a mountain in Galilee, as He had directed them. There, even though some still doubted at first, Jesus came to them and declared His supreme authority before sending them out on their mission. Before He ascended back to heaven, Jesus instructed them to wait in Jerusalem for the promised Holy Spirit, who would give them power to be His witnesses in ever-widening circles—from their hometown to the farthest parts of the earth. That promise was fulfilled at Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came dramatically, filling the believers with boldness, enabling miraculous signs like speaking in other languages, and launching the global spread of the gospel.

The Great Commission

Matthew 28:16–20: Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Spirit Power for Witness

Acts 1:4–8: And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The power arrived at Pentecost:

Acts 2:1–4: When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

When you put the full story together, it shows three huge truths:

• Jesus has total authority — nothing and no one is stronger or higher than Him.
• The mission has global reach — it’s not just for one group or one country; it’s for every nation and every person on earth.
• God provides divine presence and power — Jesus promised, “I am with you always,” and the Holy Spirit gives the strength and help needed to carry out the mission.

Everything lines up perfectly: Jesus’ command, His authority, His constant presence, and the Spirit’s power all work together so the gospel can go to the ends of the earth.

Summary: You stand under the highest authority in the universe—Jesus Himself—who backs every step you take in sharing the gospel. You’re never alone; His constant presence and the Holy Spirit’s power equip ordinary people like you to do extraordinary things. The command is clear and urgent: go make disciples everywhere. Step out in faith today, knowing heaven’s full support is behind you—revival starts when believers obey!

Section 2 – Teaching & Explanation

The Great Commission appears across the Gospels and Acts in slightly different words, but the core message is the same: preach repentance and forgiveness, make disciples, and be witnesses in widening circles from local to global. Jesus emphasized the urgency of the task using the picture of a ripe harvest ready for gathering, warning that the fields are full of people ready to hear the gospel, but there aren’t enough workers to bring it in. Other verses highlight how the time is short and the need is great, calling believers to act now before the opportunity passes or the harvest is lost.

Harvest Urgency

John 4:35: Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.

Matthew 9:37–38: Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

Luke 10:2: And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

Mark 16:15: And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”

Luke 24:47: …and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

Matthew 24:14: And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Revelation 14:15: And another angel came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice to him who sat on the cloud, “Put in your sickle, and reap, for the hour to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is fully ripe.”

Romans 10:14–15: How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

Practical steps today include starting real conversations about faith with friends and family, using digital media like social posts, videos, or online sharing to reach people far away, supporting mission work, and living out the gospel as a daily witness. When believers obey faithfully, God can bring revival and mass salvations even in our time. All these truths connect: share God’s grace urgently, claim His promises, discern the signs of the times, hold onto the hope of the rapture, and trust fully in God’s sovereign plan while taking action now.

Summary: The harvest is ready right now—fields are white, hearts are open, but workers are still too few. You have the tools: authority from Jesus, power from the Spirit, and everyday ways to reach people near and far. Pray for more laborers, then be one yourself—boldly share grace before time runs out. Ordinary believers like you can ignite revival through simple obedience. The King is coming soon—let’s bring in the harvest while we can!

The fields are ripe for harvest right now, with billions ready to hear the gospel and modern tools like the internet accelerating the spread faster than ever, yet workers remain few—so the call is clear and immediate: step out in faith today, share the good news boldly, pray for more laborers, and trust that ordinary obedience can spark massive revival and bring countless souls to Christ before time runs out.

Father in heaven, we thank you for the supreme authority of Jesus, who commands us to go and make disciples of all nations, while promising His presence to the end of the age. Fill us fresh with the Holy Spirit’s power, just as at Pentecost, so ordinary believers can boldly share the gospel and witness from our neighborhoods to the ends of the earth. Lord, ignite a great revival now—send laborers into these ripe harvest fields, accelerate the spread through every tool we have, and let billions come to Christ before Your return. May our obedience spark this end-time harvest and bring glory to You alone! In the powerful name of Jesus, Amen.
