Day 2: Salvation in the Church Age – By Grace Through Faith

By Rick Rene of Blessed2Teach Ministries

Introduction

Salvation is the heartbeat of the Church Age—a free gift received by grace through faith in Christ alone. It transforms individuals from spiritual death to eternal life, unites diverse people into one Body, and fuels the great harvest of souls. Today, we explore extended Scripture passages in their full context to reveal justification, regeneration, assurance, and the resulting unity, and apply these truths to our urgent call for revival and evangelism in these last days.

Why this matters today

With billions still unreached and signs of the times intensifying, the simplicity and power of grace-based salvation empower ordinary believers to share the gospel boldly and widely. Different Revelation views shape our urgency:

  • Premillennial — Sees a coming literal Tribulation, urging rapid harvest before the rapture.
  • Postmillennial — Expects gradual gospel triumph, motivating cultural engagement for widespread revival.
  • Amillennial — Views ongoing spiritual battle, calling for enduring faith amid trials.

All perspectives agree: secure salvation releases us to witness fearlessly, positioning the Church for a massive soul harvest that could unfold in our lifetime.

Section 1 – Key Scripture & Reading

In this section, we examine powerful extended passages that lay out the core of Church Age salvation: God’s rich mercy reviving the dead, justification as a free gift through faith, and the creation of one new humanity in Christ. These full contexts highlight the dramatic shift from wrath to grace and the resulting unity that equips us for harvest.

Ephesians 2:1–22:

Our Former Condition: Dead in Sin

Ephesians 2:1–3: And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

God’s Rich Mercy and Great Love

Ephesians 2:4–5: But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—

Raised and Seated with Christ

Ephesians 2:6–7: and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Saved by Grace Through Faith – Not Works

Ephesians 2:8–10: For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Reconciled into One New Humanity

Ephesians 2:11–22: Therefore, remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands— remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.

Summary:

What an incredible truth for the Church Age! We were once dead in sin, without hope, far from God. But God, rich in mercy and love, made us alive with Christ—by grace alone, through faith alone. We’re already seated with Jesus in heavenly places! Christ is our peace, tearing down every dividing wall and creating one new humanity. We’re no longer strangers but fellow citizens and living stones in God’s holy temple. This free gift gives Him all glory. As His workmanship, we’re ready for the good works He prepared—especially sharing this grace boldly. Live in this reality today: saved, seated, united, and sent. The harvest is ready—let’s bring in souls with victorious confidence in Christ!

Section 2 – Teaching & Explanation

In this section, we unpack the powerful truths of justification by faith and spiritual rebirth revealed in Romans and John. These passages demolish any idea of earning salvation and instead present God’s righteousness freely offered to all who believe, culminating in the life-changing reality of being born again by the Spirit. Together with supporting verses from across the New Testament, they build a clear case for grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone—equipping us with unshakable assurance to share the gospel boldly in these last days.

Romans 3:21–31:

God’s Righteousness Revealed Apart from the Law

Romans 3:21–22: But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction:

All Have Sinned – Justified Freely by Grace

Romans 3:23–24: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

Christ as Propitiation – Received by Faith

Romans 3:25–26: whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance, he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

No Boasting – Justified by Faith, Not Works

Romans 3:27–31: Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, since God is one—who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith. Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.

Born Again: The Necessity of Spiritual Regeneration

John 3:1–21: Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” … For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

More Key Verses That Affirm Grace Through Faith

All Have Sinned and Are Justified Freely

Romans 3:9–20: …as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one…” …for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God(leading into the righteousness by faith passage above)

The Gift of Eternal Life

Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Salvation Received by Believing

Romans 10:9–10: …if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Saved by Grace, Not Works

Titus 3:4–7: But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit…

Salvation is entirely by God’s mercy and grace, received through faith—never earned. Revelation views all urge us to apply this: urgent sharing (premillennial), gospel advancement (postmillennial), or faithful endurance (amillennial). With modern tools like digital platforms, we can reach multitudes quickly—claim this assurance and witness boldly for the coming harvest.

Summary: Grace salvation is the greatest news ever: all have sinned, yet God offers complete justification as a free gift through Jesus Christ’s blood, received by faith alone—no works, no merit, just pure mercy that makes Him both just and the justifier of all who trust Him. This grace requires supernatural rebirth: we must be born again by the Spirit to enter God’s kingdom, passing from death to eternal life by believing in the Son whom God gave because He loved the world. Secure in this unshakable gift, we are united as one Body and sent out boldly to proclaim Christ’s free gift of life. The harvest is plentiful—the time is now. Empowered by this amazing grace, let’s go and bring multitudes home to Jesus!
