Rick introduces his live guest, John Willis, co-founder of the Parler Cloud and Chief Strategy Officer.
John Willis Shares His Background and Political Awakening
John Willis grew up in a conservative household, attending church regularly and embracing Christian values.
His mother’s strong reaction to Bill Clinton’s presidential win in the early 1990s ignited his interest in politics.
During high school, he tuned into talk radio, including Rush Limbaugh, shaping his worldview.
Starting his career in commercial real estate while still in high school, he obtained his license early, exposing him to political dealings with local and state governments.
The 2008 financial crisis deepened his political awareness, as he observed government bailouts of companies like General Motors, the passage of the Dodd-Frank bill in 2009, and the push for Obamacare, which he viewed as contrary to the founding fathers’ vision for America.
By 2018, Willis transitioned from real estate to marketing and technology, paving the way for his involvement with Parler.
The Rise and Fall of the Original Parler Platform
Founded in 2018 by John Mates and Rebecca Mercer, Parler emerged as a response to Big Tech censorship during President Trump’s first term.
Starting with about one million users, the platform saw explosive growth in 2020 during the presidential election, as conservative influencers faced censorship on mainstream platforms.
The Hunter Biden laptop story in October 2020 was a pivotal moment, as users were banned or shadow-banned on Twitter for sharing the New York Post article, prompting them to migrate to Parler.
By January 2021, Parler had 20 million users and became the top app in the app store.
However, following the January 6th events, Apple, Google, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) colluded to shut down Parler, reducing its billion-dollar valuation to zero overnight.
The federal government paid Stanford University $750,000 to study Parler users, and this data was shared with tech companies before the shutdown.
Users can now download the Parler app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to set up or recover their accounts and follow @Bless2Teach or FaithNFreedom.TV.
John’s Team’s Initial Work with Trump and Truth Social
Shocked by the January 6th events and Trump’s silencing on social media, John Willis and his business partner, Yasser El-Jabali, leveraged their company’s technology to create white-label social media platforms.
Within three weeks of Trump’s ban on January 9th, they launched a proof-of-concept platform that caught Trump’s attention.
Meeting at Mar-a-Lago, they designed wireframes and cloud infrastructure for what became Truth Social.
After six to seven months of collaboration, they parted ways because Trump’s team ignored their advice to build an autonomous infrastructure.
Truth Social’s reliance on AWS leaves it vulnerable to the same fate as Parler.
Acquisition and Rebuilding of Parler with Autonomous Infrastructure
After its shutdown, the Parler brand changed hands multiple times—first to Candace Owens and her husband, who lacked the technical expertise to revive it, then briefly considered by Kanye West, and later acquired by a marketing agency interested only in its email list.
John Willis’s team eventually acquired and relaunched Parler in spring 2024, building a fully autonomous infrastructure to replace Big Tech reliance.
Unlike platforms like Truth Social, Rumble, Getter, and Gab, which depend on services like IBM Cloud or Azure, Parler’s infrastructure avoids such vulnerabilities.
Rumble, for instance, incurs $130-140 million in cloud costs, revealing its reliance on external services.
Willis’s team, with over a decade of work, created a true independent cloud.
The Pulse Ecosystem: Parler, Play TV, Kyvo, and Optio
The Pulse ecosystem, developed by Willis’s team, includes Parler (social media), Play TV (video platform), and Triton (a cloud acquired from Samsung with multiple U.S. data centers).
They also acquired a content delivery network (CDN) initially developed by Verizon, purchased at a fraction of its $300 million value after bankruptcy.
The Kyvo wallet, a financial technology, handles cryptocurrency and fiat transactions, with plans to replace Stripe as a payment processor.
Users are encouraged to download the Play TV and Kyvo apps from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and set up a Kyvo wallet to participate in the ecosystem.
The centerpiece, Optio, is a layer-one blockchain rewarding users with tokens for platform activity, which can be used in the marketplace or converted to cryptocurrency.
The Optio Blockchain and Node System
The Optio blockchain, akin to Bitcoin or Ethereum, serves as a foundation for multiple projects.
Its utility token, not a registered security, is earned through platform activity and convertible to cryptocurrency or cash.
Nodes validate transactions, earning approximately 130 tokens daily, likened to “toll booths of the internet” or “chickens laying eggs.”
Nodes cost $1,000 each as a one-time software license purchase, with a $10 monthly hosting fee for up to 10 nodes through Simple.
With 30 billion total tokens to be distributed over 30 years, the blockchain is community-owned and decentralized.
Currently, 150,000 of the 200,000 allocated nodes are active, with 50,000 available for purchase.

Marketplace Integration and Future Plans
Partnering with Kevin Harrington from Shark Tank, the ecosystem integrates over 200,000 merchants into its marketplace, allowing users to spend Optio tokens on real-world products, addressing a key cryptocurrency challenge.
With 17 million active wallets, Optio is a major blockchain project focused on utility before marketing.
The company plans to go public on the New York Stock Exchange next year with a valuation exceeding one billion dollars.
The mission centers on freedom of speech, information, and economic independence, with Willis crediting divine guidance for their progress in just 18 months.
